G'day mates!

We are settling in to Aus quite nicely. We have kept very busy these first few days visiting Joe's family around Melbourne.

At his mums we got to see all the new baby alpacas. They are all so curious, especially little Frankie!

The mommies give their babies lots of kisses,

Nicholas was born closest to Christmas so he got the name Saint Nick
Frankie has a little feed:
My lovely lovely sister-in-law and I had a walk around the farm
What a beautiful place!
We finished off the day with some yummy Aussie Christmas favorites Pavlova and Christmas pudding....mmmmmm
The next morning we got to see TWO alpacas give birth. Here was the first
Just a few hours later he was up and frolicking around!

Back in Melbourne at Joe's dads house we took the super pup to the beach for a morning swim:

This is clearly the highlight of their day:

'Tis the season!!

Last week we spent lots of time in the city visiting the Kurz-Cosgrove family while they vacationed in San Francisco. We ate at lots of yummy restaurants and went on some beautiful hikes. As you can see the weather was crisp and clear (thats the view of downtown SF from our BART station in Oakland)

View of the Pacific Ocean from the Marin Headlands on Thanksgiving. What a great way to walk off the first round of the buffet. We had an early feast at the Cliff House restaurant. The views were absolutely breathtaking. It was definitely a California Turkey Day watching surfers while we ate our stuffing and mashed potatoes (and french toast)
We finished off the afternoon with a spectacular west coast sunset and then ate some more of course....

This week I was chosen for jury duty. The bad news is I cant go to work (aka no paycheck), the good news is I get to do my civic duty and be home early enough to make yummy dinners. Tonight we had oatmeal stout (homebrew!!) braised short ribs with horseradish mashed potatoes and brussel sprouts.

Joe didn't like any of it as you can tell...

Since the ribs spent 3 hours in the oven and Joe got held up at work, I blasted Christmas music and got crafty :) Thus our Christmas tree was born. Its made out of a cardboard box and decorated with cut up toilet paper rolls.

Happy Birthday Zol!

Tonight we celebrated our good friend Zol's birthday with some sushi and friends. I made him little sushi look-alike mini cakes for dessert.

Aren't they the cutest?

New family member....

As some of you may have heard, my bike was stolen last week. Since Joe's bike Sworky and I couldn't stop crying from lonliness, Joe got us a replacement....

Meet The Longhaul Trucker:
Pending 3 months of free time, this new baby (and its soon to come big brother) will carry Joe and I straight across the country. Whos in?

I uploaded some of the professional wedding photos to my flickr page. What a super fun day that was. We still cant believe what talented and loving people we have in our life. Thanks to everyone for their help and generosity this summer!!

We miss you!

Hello friends and family.

Since most of you are very far away from us, we thought we would set up a little blog to give you a peek into our every day life. We aren't all that exciting, but neither are you. :)

Over the past few weeks we have bottled homebrew,
carved pumpkins,
eaten pumpkins, drank pumpkin oatmeal stout, baked pumpkin treats, toasted pumpkin seeds...you get the point.

Joe made some yummy breakfast,
I made some yummy dinners (with butternut squash sent all the way from Dudley, MA),

Joe and Zol chopped some wood,
I built some toasty fires and burned it.

All in all, we are settling into Fall quite nicely.

Miss and love you all!

Love,
Lindsey and Joe
